Curso 19: Aplicaciones de la tecnología  no multimedial, multimedial  y la Internet a la enseñanza del idioma inglés.

In order to find out about my students' needs for information and communication technology, I conducted a survey. The students belonged to secondary school groups in their last two years of studies. All of them were

16-17 year olds and belonged to a medium or high social and economic background and all of them had access to the internet, either at home or at school.

These are the findings of my survey before and after we created a web page at school.

Before:

After :

50% said they would like to have a web page.

25% worried about being able to have access to the Internet at home

15% said they would like to contribute to the site

10% said they weren't really interested in the Internet

60% said they would like to contribute to the web-page

25%  said they would visit the site

15%  said they would like to work in some kind of project or have pen-pals

0%  said that wasn't really interested in the Internet

As for my students' reaction for making content contributions to the web-page these are the figures:

After we created it:

 Before we created it

65% said they would contribute to the web-page .

20% said they would contribute to the web-page.

 THE WEB-PAGE

The students worked together with the teacher to develop the following contents for the Business English web-page, which we agreed we would name English on-line because we considered this name showed the objectives sought: collaborative work, communication, exchange, and permanent development.
